Jacinta Vlach engages in numerous Community Outreach programs throughout
the Bay Area. Throughout 2008 Jacinta provided free Hip-hop dance classes for girls at the Bayview Hunter’s Point YMCA through Performing Arts Workshop.
She has served as a teaching artist and arts educator through S.F. Ballet Center
for Dance Education (SF), Children’s Aid Society (NYC), and substitution for
Ailey Arts in Education and Community Program (NYC). Aside from outreach,
Ms. Vlach has been on faculty at Contra Costa Ballet, the ODC Youth Program,
San Francisco Dance Center, and provided master classes for SF School of the
Arts High School and Oakland School of the Arts.
SUMMER 2009
Jacinta joins Oakland artists and educators to provide a 3-week summer program that interweaves social justice, youth empowerment and the arts. The 3-week program launches programming June 29th, 2009. The program’s goal is to provide a hundred youth the opportunity to gain skills in their artistic disciplines, learn violence prevention skills, build community and solidarity. INFO: OPC
